Steve Graham: What works in teaching writing

Steve Graham identifies effective practices to implement when teaching writing to young children. These practices include providing opportunities to practice writing; teaching the processes of planning, revising, evaluating, and monitoring; teaching genre characteristics; and tracking the development of fundamental skills. Graham also highlights how goal-setting, collaboration, feedback, word processing tools, and a positive classroom environment support developing writers.
