It was very important for Nicole and I to make sure that in the poem legacy, we talked not just about folks who do the big things that are seen and maybe acknowledge a little bit more. So being doctors, being lawyers, being activists, writers, right singers. But we also know that being a mother is important and being a good neighbor is important, and being a teacher is important. All of those things. We wanted to make sure that young people felt like it’s not about being the loudest or the most visible person to make change, but you just existing in your everyday life, whatever that’s going to look like, that you can continue this legacy of fighting for freedom and being a change maker and making sure that you are being kind and listening and standing up for what’s right in your world. I say a lot to young people that I think that it’s a lot of pressure when adults say, go change the world. We want you to do something big. And changing the world is a lot. That is a hard task to give to someone, but I think it’s possible to change your world, so your family, your neighborhood, your school, your community, what can you do to bring small and big change into the world, meaning your world. And so that page is about that, the legacy that you come from and also the legacy you are going to leave.
