As an adult, Author Paula Yoo found a box of self-portraits she had drawn when she was little. The early ones look like her with dark hair and eyes, but the ones she drew after moving back to the US from Korea, where didn't feel she fit in either, portray her with blond hair and blue eyes. Now, as a writer, she wants kids like her to see themselves represented in books, and hopes that with more diverse books in the world, no kid will need to draw themselves to look like everyone else.
