My name is Melissa Stewart. I’m a children’s book author. I have written more than 200 science books for kids, all the way from board books up to YA. And I’ve written some books for teachers too.
I went into writing children’s books because you really can make an enormous difference in the life of a child if you are able to get to them at a young age. When adults read a book, they might think it’s interesting, but when a child reads that book, not only is it interesting, it can easily change the way that they see themselves and the way that they see the world. And that’s really exciting.
