Journalist Eric Garcia: Lower Rates of Diagnosis for Autism in Spanish-Speaking Communities

While there are many misconceptions about autism throughout society, there are even more misconceptions and less information in Hispanic and other Spanish-speaking communities. More education and outreach as well as better cultural competency on behalf of psychologists, clinicians, and educators would help Spanish-speaking people get the diagnoses and accommodations needed for their autistic family members.
