Author and Autism Advocate Jennifer Cook says that most autistic girls feel as if they were not given the social rule book for life, which makes playing with peers, understanding others' motivation, and expressing themselves all but impossible. But with knowledge and understanding, teachers can help their students better express themselves and fit in, which for an autistic girl can be life-changing, life-saving.
