Target the Problem
Target the Problem is an interactive online tool from Reading Rockets designed to help parents and classroom teachers understand the specific problems a child may be having with reading. Parents can find practical suggestions on what they (and the kids themselves) can do to help overcome or deal with their reading difficulties.
Put Downs and Comebacks
Put Downs and Comebacks is an online tool from Reading Rockets to help a parent respond to some of the negative feelings their child might express about their struggles. It’s easy to get discouraged when you’re struggling with reading, for example. This tool can help parents discover a child’s “put downs” may mean and what “comebacks” you can say or do to encourage a child to keep trying.
