Dr. Sharon Ramey is a professor and research scholar at Virginia Tech University. Ramey and her husband, Dr. Craig Ramey, have done extensive work on the health and development of young children. Their numerous studies have shown dramatic gains in learning and accomplishment as the result of nurturing care in early childhood.
Sharon Robinson is the author of fiction and nonfiction books for children. Sharon has written several widely praised books about her father — baseball legend Jackie Robinson — including Child of the Dream (A Memoir of 1963), The Hero Two Doors Down, Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America, Jackie Robinson: American Hero, and the picture book Testing the Ice.
Dr. Walpole is a professor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware. Her research interests include the design and effects of school-wide reforms, particularly those involving literacy coaches. She works with literacy coaches, reading specialists, and administrators to build school-wide systems to support teachers, especially those working for children at risk.
